Will there be a global existential crisis?

I would say that the chances of a global existential crisis are approaching 100%. There will be many contributing factors which are not necessarily related, but in general there is an overall trend pointing to this. The primary cause as I see it is the lack of knowledge and understanding between people with different viewpoints leading to polarization rather than reconciliation. This leads to increased conflict and strife which results in radicalization, terrorism, attacks on society at large, etc.

The conflict will be exacerbated by the gap between rich and poor, leading to increased competition for resources. The media is only fueling this division as it has become more sensationalized in an attempt to create a larger audience.

There will also inevitably be the side effects of climate change and pollution, which is only adding to these problems. It seems that things are becoming increasingly worse in this regard as well.
