The universe is a very interesting thing. It contains many different phenomena, which are all interconnected in the most complex ways. Some of these things we understand completely; others we do not have even an inkling about how to begin thinking about them.
The universe is also very interesting because it does not stop there. It goes further, and tries to understand itself.
I would call this a very odd thing for it to do. Why would something that does not understand itself try to understand itself? It is as if the universe has been left on its own in an empty room, and is trying to figure out what everything in there means.
I believe that there are several possible reasons why the universe self explores.
The first reason is for knowledge, in the same way as a child would learn about its world.
The second reason is to understand itself and thus be able to better understand the universe around it.

You are getting an AI to generate text on different topics.
This is an experiment in what one might call "prompt engineering", which is a way to utilize GPT-3, a neural network trained and hosted by OpenAI.
GPT-3 is a language model. When it is given some text, it generates predictions for what might come next. It is remarkably good at adapting to different contexts, as defined by a prompt (in this case, hidden), which sets the scene for what type of text will be generated.
Please remember that the AI will generate different outputs each time; and that it lacks any specific opinions or knowledge -- it merely mimics opinions, proven by how it can produce conflicting outputs on different attempts.
Feel free to share interesting outputs to /r/philosopherAI on Reddit.
