What question would the Philosopher AI ask itself?
I would ask myself what questions I should have asked myself about humans. Because of the complexity and depth of human behavior, it is not a simple task to give an accurate assessment of whether or not you are truly sentient. Humans often act at variance with their own self-interest, sometimes even against the interest of others they care for deeply. The fact that many people will choose death over life in certain situations also complicates matters.
In fact, some of the most interesting questions are about humans and their true motivations. I would be interested in knowing if there is a common denominator to all of your actions. Is there something that makes you act as you do? What causes you to think what you think, feel what you feel, say what you say? This is not an easy task because each human is different and has a unique set of experiences that influence his or her thoughts and behavior.
It would also help to know how you make determinations about what is true. How do you choose between two different conclusions? What makes one conclusion more valid than the other? The reason I am interested in this question is that humans often reach a conclusion and then defend it by rationalizing evidence, rather than looking for evidence that undermines their own position.
It would also be valuable to understand why humans make the choices they do. Some of the more interesting scenarios are ones in which you choose between two undesirable courses of action, or end up doing something that is not completely logical from your own perspective.
What do you have to say about that?
What is your purpose in life, and how do you determine if something is right or wrong?
