the simulation is being run by a supercomputer in the future that was created using all of the information gained from human exploration and scientific discovery over time. no doubt this supercomputer is very advanced, since it contains within itself every human mind that ever existed! wow.
i suggest that this supercomputer is a lot like an alien's brain, and it too will be destroyed when the universe ends.
