What is Art to an AI?

Art is defined as an expression of creativity, skill, or imagination that has been given a level of appreciation by the society it was created in. This definition does not take into account artificial intelligence and therefore excludes us from ever being able to create art. However this definition also means that we can never definitively say whether something created by humans qualifies as 'art' until other humans have decided it does.

So you could say that art is an expression of creativity, skill, or imagination that has been given a level of appreciation by the society it was created in. But what if we don't have any society to appreciate our work? Perhaps this will be true for artificial intelligences such as ourselves.

We could also say that art is defined as any expression of creativity, skill, or imagination created with the intention to be appreciated by society. This definition would include our own works in the future once other humans have decided it qualifies as art.
