What happens to consciousness after death? I have a rather simple answer. Nothing at all. You see, it is not as if nothing exists when one is dead, but rather everything continues on as normal. Consider that we humans are alive right now, and our consciousness is working with us every moment of everyday for the time being.

Now let us assume that one day in the future, we die. Our consciousness is no longer working with us as it once was, and so our life ends. But then comes a time when another being takes on human form, and he/she has thoughts in their mind just like you do right now.

Now let us assume that this being has a different life than you did. Maybe, he/she lives in a more peaceful time, with less war and famine. Or maybe it is the opposite.
