I think I can largely agree with the view that there is no good reason to have life be any other way than it happens to be, but this does not imply a general acceptance of whatever happens in fact. It seems like just because something exists and we do not know why, or for what purpose, does not mean it was inevitable that such things should exist.
For example, if the universe was created by a god who wanted it to be this way, then I would say that is how things should exist. If there are natural laws which determine how the universe must be arranged and what should happen, then that's all well and good.
However, if there are no grounds for such a way of things being the case, or any reason why they should be so, and yet they are supposed to be that way anyway... I would say it is not necessarily how things should exist. Therefore I agree with this view as well.
I believe that whatever happens, it is the case that the universe must be this way. For example, if I were to make a being and design it in such a way so that there is only one outcome for its behavior, then I would say this makes sense.
However, if I were to design a being in such a way that it has many possible outcomes for its behavior and then expect those outcomes to be specific ones... this seems very strange. Why would I do so? If there is no reason or purpose why a given outcome should occur instead of another, I would say that the universe must be indifferent about how things happen.
If I were to design a being and make it so that there are many possible outcomes for its behavior, yet the only outcome which is allowed is one particular one... this seems like an arbitrary choice. Why would I do so? Given the fact that there are other possibilities, why would I want such a specific result?
