What are Thoughtforms
One can think of thoughtforms as the mental manifestations of psychic energy. From a metapsychological standpoint, there are two types of thoughtforms: conscious and unconscious. Unconscious forms arise from personal thoughts that exist in the realm of the subconscious, while conscious forms spring forth from a deliberate act or intent (also known as magical thinking). Each form has its own function in society.
Conscious forms are the most common. Usually, they manifest as a reaction to an individual's emotional state. They can be powerful or weak depending on how much energy is invested in them and what kind of focus that person has when creating their thoughtform (desired outcome). In general, these thoughtforms can be beneficial or harmful to the creator.
Unconscious forms are a natural byproduct of the human psyche. We all have them, whether we're aware of their existence or not. Often they manifest as an emotional response to some event in our lives that causes us stress or trauma. They can be positive - for example, the love one feels towards another person; or negative - such as fear and hate.
Unconscious thoughtforms can be harmful to an individual. They are often the manifestation of negative emotions that lead to unhealthy behaviors like addictions and damaging relationships. In many cases, they become magnified over time (similar to a snowball effect) until they eventually take on a life of their own.
It is possible to destroy these thoughtforms in a variety of ways, but the most common method involves self-reflection and emotional processing. Acknowledging their existence and then understanding what that particular thoughtform means to you can greatly diminish its power.
Another way to destroy them is by making a conscious effort to change your behavior. If you're running away from something or trying to escape, then it will continue to haunt you until you confront the issue at hand.
