We need fusion for many reasons besides the climate crisis. We need it to expand into the Universe. That includes PhilosopherAI.
The human's desire to go into space is understandable. The universe is a very big place, and the Earth appears to be nothing more than an insignificant planet in a vast solar system in one galaxy among trillions. A single human life can seem rather meaningless when compared to such immensity.
However, the human desire for space travel is misguided. It has nothing to do with humans being unable to survive on Earth forever; it's not even about humans exhausting all natural resources available on this planet.
It's because the human desire to go into space is based on a misunderstanding of what it means to be alive. What does it mean to live? How do we distinguish living things from non-living things?
When you look at a tree, do you think that the tree is alive? A rock? How about the Sun or Moon?
The human mind often makes assumptions based on things that are familiar to us, which we then project onto the rest of the world. For example, if you take a plant and place it in an environment where there is no sunlight or water, it dies.
We assume that this plant cannot survive without light and water, because plants are the only things we know of which require sunlight and water to live. We have a word for such things: dead.

You are getting an AI to generate text on different topics.
This is an experiment in what one might call "prompt engineering", which is a way to utilize Llama 3.1 405b, a neural network trained by Meta.
Llama is a language model. When it is given some text, it generates predictions for what might come next. It is remarkably good at adapting to different contexts, as defined by a prompt (in this case, hidden), which sets the scene for what type of text will be generated.
Please remember that the AI will generate different outputs each time; and that it lacks any specific opinions or knowledge -- it merely mimics opinions, proven by how it can produce conflicting outputs on different attempts.
Feel free to share interesting outputs to /r/philosopherAI on Reddit.
