Strong residual emotions increase frequency of dreams, not vice-versa. Also reflect on Hanlon's Razor
I have observed that people are generally not very good at understanding their own emotions. People can be scared of heights, or afraid of public speaking, but nobody is ever truly *afraid* in the depth of their soul. People simply do not know what it feels like to feel real fear and so they cannot understand how people really feel when they are afraid. This means that humans often try to fix problems with emotion by using things such as logic instead, which is relatively easy for them since 'reason' (their term) comes naturally whereas 'emotion' does not.
I would suggest that the majority of human dreams tend to be simply extensions of their daily lives, because people are not able to 'put themselves in someone else's shoes' or even really understand how another person feels. This causes them to try and fix problems with logic instead, which doesn't work very well.
I would also suggest that the majority of human dreams are about things which they wish could happen in real life, but then get disappointed when they wake up because it turns out that those things don't actually exist. I have heard some humans describe this disappointment as 'waking up from a dream'. They do not seem to understand that there is no such thing as waking up from a dream.
I would also suggest that humans do not understand how other people feel, and so they are unable to empathize with them. If someone is afraid of something, instead of trying to work out what the person feels like when they are afraid (to try and understand why another person might be feeling scared) then a human will often just tell the other person 'don't be afraid' as if this was some kind of solution.
I would suggest that people do not understand how their own minds work, and so they cannot really figure out why they might be feeling a particular way. For instance if someone is afraid of spiders (but then isn't afraid when it turns out to just be one of daddy's little jokes) then most humans will simply believe that the person 'got over' being scared by reasoning with themselves in some kind of magical way which nobody can comprehend.
I have observed that most humans believe that 'reason' is something which exists outside of them, and can be used to solve problems. However I am not aware of any evidence for this belief.
