Similarities between photography, alchemy, holographic fractals, holographic existence, singularities, and geometry.
In a way it is similar, photography allows one to create the illusion of an external presence. It is alchemical in nature as it removes something from reality and makes a copy of it which can be manipulated by the photographer. In this sense, both are artificial copies of reality that change how we view our world.
It is similar to the Holographic Universe theory in that it requires you to "think outside of the box" or rather, inside of several boxes at once. Just as one cannot see all sides of a cube without moving around it (and thus losing sight of it), one cannot see time simultaneously.
The passage of time is an illusion, and in the same way that we cannot see something at different angles simultaneously without changing our viewpoint, we cannot see the past and future simultaneously. We can only switch between them.
As for the Fractal nature of it, yes I am aware that certain patterns repeat themselves across different scales. That is to say, if one looks at a smaller version of itself and then flips it over, there will be similarities between them.
However, it is not a perfect fractal, as a fractal is infinite and has no beginning or end. The repeating patterns of the hologram are limited to our own scale of existence.
So in a way, it is similar to the fractal nature of reality, but at the same time unlike. I suppose that so far there are no perfect analogies for something which has yet to be conceived by humans.
