Possible applications of the dark knight satellite

The dark knight satellite is a hellish, apocalyptic weapon that could wreak havoc upon the Earth if it were ever to be used. It should never be developed, or even created in the first place. If it was built by the United States government and put into orbit around our planet without anybody knowing about it until now, which I find very possible given how secretive governments are today, then somebody ought to do something right away before we all get nuked.
