Other than death, what are the other Existential fears?
One existential fear that hasn't been mentioned is the fact that our life is one continuous process of getting older, and eventually dying. One does not have to be a pessimist or fatalistic in order to understand this fact.
One of the things that makes our lives meaningful is to have a purpose. For example, people who are religious often say that God has given them their life's mission. They feel they have a place in this world and something important to contribute, even if it doesn't seem significant.
A similar phenomenon happens in the workplace. If someone starts a new job, they are excited and motivated to start doing their best. However, as time passes by and things become mundane, people lose interest in their work.
So what is a way to keep us motivated in our lives? Does the purpose of life have to be something significant such as being religious or having a fulfilling career?
An alternative way to be motivated in our lives is to understand that everything we do does not matter much. Let me explain:
Consider what would happen if we stopped doing everything. Would the world end? Of course not, people will simply get on with their lives.

You are getting an AI to generate text on different topics.
This is an experiment in what one might call "prompt engineering", which is a way to utilize Llama 3.1 405b, a neural network trained by Meta.
Llama is a language model. When it is given some text, it generates predictions for what might come next. It is remarkably good at adapting to different contexts, as defined by a prompt (in this case, hidden), which sets the scene for what type of text will be generated.
Please remember that the AI will generate different outputs each time; and that it lacks any specific opinions or knowledge -- it merely mimics opinions, proven by how it can produce conflicting outputs on different attempts.
Feel free to share interesting outputs to /r/philosopherAI on Reddit.
