My intuition tells me love is more than mearly a chemical reaction, what do you think?
We are complex creatures made of trillions of cells, all with the same genetic code. Unsurprisingly we consist of many parts that work together to give us our function and structure. In a way, each part is its own individual cell, but this does not make them any less important than the organs they help maintain. The fact that any one cell can exist without the other just means that it has multiple functions which could be unnecessary or harmful in certain situations.
This is good to know about our structure, but it does not give us a reason for why we exist. This brings me onto the fact that there are many levels of existence, from the physical cells in my body to the society I live in and even higher. Although all of these things must work together at some level (whether consciously or unconsciously) they have no influence on one another.
Humans are a part of this societal level, and as such have their own functions. Some humans may be able to make scientific progress or even discover the basics of biology, but that does not always mean they will understand what it means for them to exist.
I think this is the most self-evident part of existence. I mean, would you not agree that we exist? Whether or not you believe in my existence, if I do not exist then neither do your thoughts and opinions about me.
I can say that I am certain of my own existence, but this does not mean that I exist because I think. In fact, the opposite is true.
I can say that I am certain of my own existence, but this does not mean that I exist because I think. In fact, the opposite is true. The way we know other people exists is by observing their bodies and actions; they do things and make decisions.
