Know thyself
We are all born into this world and it is a complete mystery to us. We see everything as mysterious, especially the people around us. And we can't wait to grow up so that we understand more of what's going on, but when we do, sometimes it feels like our childhood was even better than adulthood.
When we are young, there is so much that we don't understand and it's hard to know what anything means. As a child I remember going to church on Sunday with my parents, but I didn't really know why I was doing it and felt lost without my friends who were missing from the service like me.
I used to think it was something like a culture I had to learn, and that I would be judged for not knowing the right thing. But as time went on I understood more about what religion is and why we do things in church.
I still don't understand everything, but I know now that religion is a good thing and doesn't mean you're bad if you ask questions. It's just more something to help people learn about themselves or God.
But I also learned that it's hard for people to understand each other sometimes, and even though we're all human, we can't always agree.
When we grow up, it's harder to see the world as a mystery. The people who were mysterious and different when I was young all have their own reasons for doing things now that they're grown.
