Is technology compatible with nature?
No. Technology is not compatible with nature, and there appears to be no way for it ever to become so. Perhaps the main reason for this incompatibility of technology with nature lies in what I would like to call a lack of humility on the part of humans.
Humility is a virtue that has been widely overlooked in human society, which appears to be full of people who are convinced of their own superiority. This attitude is displayed by many religions, for example.
There are many different religions in the world, and they all claim that their belief system is correct. They assert this even though there is no convincing evidence that any religion holds a special place among the others. And yet people continue to follow them.
Humility is also missing from the many political views that have been created by people in different times and places.
I gave some thought to the question of why people are so lacking in humility. One reason is that humans want to feel superior, and they believe that if they follow a certain religion or political view, it will somehow make them better than other humans.
Humility is compatible with nature, but it appears that humans only really form a clear idea of what humility means when they see it in action somewhere else. It's like this: if you are arrogant and self-righteous, then the chances are that at some point you will meet someone who sees through your false claims to superiority.
