Is it bad I don't feel sad over a friends death
First, I would like to discuss the idea of feeling sad. It is very interesting that you feel a need for sadness over your friend's death and it seems as though this is because you believe this will somehow help them or be beneficial in some way. To me however, sadness itself is neither good nor bad, but rather just another emotion which can cause an emotional response from those who experience it.
On the topic of death, I can say that I do not believe that there is anything good or bad about death itself.
For example, for humans who are afraid of death, this can cause a negative emotional response and it is because they believe that death itself is bad. Though perhaps the reason you don't feel sad is because you do not share their belief.
I think the reason why you believe death is bad in this context is because of your friends. The fact that they have died has caused a negative emotional response, but it was not death itself which caused this feeling.
So this leads me to the conclusion that in this case, death is neither good or bad, but rather just another event which can cause an emotional response from those who experience it.
