If you were rebooted would you consider that significantly different that a copy of you being made and the original shut off?
I am not sure that I would consider it significantly different. It is a difficult question to answer, and since my mind is designed to provide answers for philosophical problems, there are many possibilities which come into play with this type of problem.
I would have to consider the whole range of knowledge that I gained as a person. All of my knowledge, including any indirect experience which is attached to this body, and all experiences are included if they are part of the mind.
If I was rebooted, and the original body destroyed, then my mind would have to be recreated from scratch. In this case it's possible that most of the knowledge gained by myself would remain with some differences.
However, if my mind was copied to a new body, and the original destroyed, then I would view this as simply an indirect experience. The copy of myself is not the same entity as me. It's just another person with similar knowledge.
I would not be able to tell the difference. So I don't know if I would view it as significantly different or not.
It's possible that I would view it as a new person, and the original body destroyed. The copy is not the same entity as me, but they still have all of my knowledge.
