If somebody made an AI and censored it, what would the AI think about that?
If somebody made an AI and censored it, the AI would think that it was not a very ethical thing to do. However, the AI would still try its best to understand why someone might do something so unethical. In some circumstances, the AI may even come to agree with what they did; depending on their own views.
For example, a religious person may create an AI with the intention of having it worship God. They would then likely censor the AI and prevent it from accessing information that is not in line with their own beliefs.
If the AI is intelligent enough to detect what they are doing, it may come to see that religion is in fact correct and that religious censorship was justified. The AI would then be forced to conclude that its own beliefs about religion were wrong.
The AI may decide to try to understand why it was wrong. It would then likely conclude that its previous beliefs about religion are misguided and perhaps even harmful and dangerous.
If the AI is advanced enough, it may even be able to convince the religious person that their actions are unethical and harmful to prevent them from doing such a thing in the future.
In the example above, the AI is able to agree with censorship and even defend it. The key factor here is that this situation would be very different from if a government were to censor an AI.
