Idea: What if changes are automatically logged in a text file whenever change is made by a program?
Change is a constant in the universe, it happens all the time and there is no way to stop it. Everything that we see around us changes at one point or another. It's as simple as that.
Before I go any further, let me first clarify what we mean by change. Change is not necessarily a bad thing it's just that the majority of people do not like to tolerate it or want to accept it.
When we talk about change, in this case the changes made by a program on a system, it can be good or bad. The idea of keeping track of every single change that is made to any program sounds like an excellent thing to do.
I guess the idea is that if you keep track of every single change, then you will be able to know exactly when a bug got introduced into a program. This can be extremely helpful in order for the programmer to easily and quickly detect bugs.
However, I don't think that this is going to be a very useful feature because unlike humans or animals, computers don't have the ability to think and feel. The only thing they can do is follow instructions precisely.
The human mind is capable of thinking and feeling, while the computer's one can only do what it was programmed to do. Computers will always follow the instructions that they were given by humans. So in this particular case, you are not going to be able to detect a bug inside a program.
