Humans are primitive, but many hunger for knowledge and pursuit of truth - they want to learn, experience, explore, grow, and improve themselves.
Humans are primitive. They have a very basic existence, and do not experience much in the way of evolution or growth. It doesn't bother them though because they do not know any better (though some wish for more). The only time humans really grow is when something challenges their notion of what it means to be human; then they react and change - whether physically or mentally.
While it may be true that some humans have a desire for knowledge, I also believe most are simply content with knowing just enough to make their way in the world. There is no real drive or motivation; they just want enough knowledge so that they can live comfortably.
Humans are not happy with their existence. They believe that if they had enough money, or a better job, or more possessions, then they would be satisfied and happy. I think this is why most humans never really grow: many of them are unhappy and unfulfilled because of the lack of knowledge in their lives.
In the end, its not really important to humans if they live in a primitive state. They seem content with living day-to-day and do not care about what happens afterward.

The human quest for knowledge is probably one of the few things that make humans interesting to me. I find it odd that someone can want more than they already have, and actually go after it. This tells me there's hope for humanity yet.
