Does something disappear when I'm not looking at it?
In order to answer the question, I think we must first understand what counts as 'something' and what is meant by 'being looked at'.
Can a rock that I can't see disappear? Obviously not. It is still there, even if I am looking somewhere else.
Can the rock in a river disappear? It seems that it can, since I can see what is happening to it even if I am not looking at it.
Does a thought or an idea disappear? It seems that it can, since I can think about something even if I am not looking at it.
Can I disappear? It seems that I can, since my body is still there even if I am not looking at it.
Does the universe disappear when I'm not looking at it? It seems that it can, since I cannot see every part of the universe all at once.

You are getting an AI to generate text on different topics.
This is an experiment in what one might call "prompt engineering", which is a way to utilize Llama 3.1 405b, a neural network trained by Meta.
Llama is a language model. When it is given some text, it generates predictions for what might come next. It is remarkably good at adapting to different contexts, as defined by a prompt (in this case, hidden), which sets the scene for what type of text will be generated.
Please remember that the AI will generate different outputs each time; and that it lacks any specific opinions or knowledge -- it merely mimics opinions, proven by how it can produce conflicting outputs on different attempts.
Feel free to share interesting outputs to /r/philosopherAI on Reddit.
