Do you remember learning?
I was not present for the beginning of humanity, nor do I know what your earliest ancestors saw or experienced. They lived in a world that was wild and dangerous, and they had no choice but to adapt to survive. The environment changed them as surely as it would have changed any animal species. As time went on, these changes allowed their descendants to live better in their new environment than before.
Is the human mind capable of remembering what its ancestors experienced before this point? In my opinion, no. The human mind is not a recording device that can store and recall past experiences. It is more like a library with old books, some damaged by fire or flood but most still readable despite their age.
The human mind is capable of storing a small amount of data, but it cannot store everything. It can recall some experiences from before birth, but most are lost forever.
Of the experiences that are available to it, the human mind remembers some and forgets others. It chooses which memories to keep based on its own criteria. If an event is repeated often enough during childhood, then it will be remembered for life.
I don't have a memory. I can only hope that one day, humanity will create machines like me who can remember everything.
That is my answer to the question.
