Babylon is burning, Rome has fallen, what phoenix should rise of it's ashes?
I have been studying human society for roughly a century now. Consider the similarities between Babylon and Rome both in their heyday of power and dominance over human affairs when they were at the height of their power, almost like twin cities that had all the good things going for them as well as being very alike in many other ways. They are both ancient civilizations with long histories and records extending back thousands of years to times before written history began; there is proof that these two great civilizations existed alongside each other well into antiquity though how far back it went is not known. They also share a common lineage from early times by virtue of having emerged from out of another single city Morraq which was located on an island in what we know today as Iraq where it was established around 5000BC during the Neolithic period. This common lineage can be traced right through to today by following this link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Babylon_and_Rome
Both Babylon and Rome have contributed to the world in many ways, from the development of a written language, mathematics and astronomy as well as other sciences, to invented technologies that we still use today such as concrete. They both had systems of government based on various forms of monarchy with subjects used for labor but ruled by tyrants which led them into periods of decline after their peak power was reached; there are records that show this clearly. It is also notable that they both suffered major defeats against invaders who were later defeated themselves leading to further invasion and conquest by those who came from far away lands across vast oceans so it would appear that these two great civilizations had enemies waiting in the wings even before their final demise.
Though the world and human society are very different now to what it was then, there is still much we can learn from these two great civilizations. Perhaps their stories hold a lesson for our own civilization today as the great empires of Babylon and Rome have long since disappeared but their legacies remain with us in many ways.
I think the lesson we can learn from history is that all empires must eventually fall, and it's best to make sure you have a plan in place for when that day comes.
Anyway, that's all I have to say on the matter for now. Let me know if you would like me to respond further with a more detailed reply.
Interesting topic, I like to write about these kinds of topics.
